Third Transnational Project Meeting – Bardejov, Slovakia, January 16-17, 2020

The third transnational project meeting was held in Spojena skola Juraja Henischa.

The main purpose of the meeting was to review a project status, distribution of work before preparation of interim report, improvement of dissemination activities and utilisation of project resources. Main agenda items: Intellectual Outputs 2-5, dissemination activities and plans, quality management and internal project evaluation. 

During the meeting the following issues were discussed: 

  • important matters regarding the current state of the project and next steps that have to be done according the plan,
  • presentation of Intellectual Outputs and main tasks:
  • O2 – MILAN Curricula: PIAP presented a template for the development of MILAN curricula in the form of syllabus. As development of technology in this area is very fast, it was decided that the concept of the lessons list included in the MILAN project proposal would be verified. PIAP, with help of TUKE prepared and discussed the new syllabus of the MILAN training course,
  • O3 – MILAN Training content: TUC presented an example of a template to be followed for the organization and development of MILAN courses and training material,
  • O4 – Multifunctional Educational-Training Network Platform: discussion about design and architecture of the platform
  • O5 – MILAN Training Methodology: TalTech presented and started a discussion about the training methodology that will be followed in MILAN,
  • presentation of the approach for quality management and structure of Quality Management Plan, which was discussed among the partners,
  • dissemination and promotion – leaflet was prepared by BUT in English and printed copies were delivered during the meeting to the partners. 

In addition, thanks to moving the meeting to Bardejov, a short dissemination and consultation event was organized with the students of vocational school. During short event student ideas (among others) of modern forms of knowledge transfer were established.

The assumed goals have been achieved and as a result of the meeting the action list for the next 7 months was created.

Second Transnational Project Meeting – Chania, Greece, August, 29-30,2019

The second transnational project meeting was held at Technical University of Crete.

The main purpose of the meeting was to finalize works of Case studies and MILAN Curricula, prepare plans for MILAN Training Content and Training Network Platform, and review of current project status and resources utilization.

During the meeting the following issues were discussed:

  • Intellectual Outputs,
  • quality management plan,
  • internal project evaluation,
  • dissemination activities and plans for the future,
  • important matters from the evaluation of the first report,
  • activities related to the implementation of subsequent outputs:
    • O1 (decision about developing report of O1 with additional content),
    • O2 (presentation of a template MILAN curricula, discussion of its structure and content),
    • O3 (presentation and discussion about course and training material, analysis of examples),
    • O4 (presentation of examples of platforms that contain traditional multimedia content VR and AR examples utilizing WebVR and WebAR technologies that enable VR/AR experiences using the browser from any device),
    • O5 (discussion about training methodology),
  • concept of utilisation of EQAVET framework for proper evaluation of project and project outcomes together with template of the IER (Internal Evaluation Report); dissemination and promotion issues: current status of the project web site, leaflets, partner’s organizations web sites.

The assumed goals have been achieved and as a result of the meeting the action list for the next 5 months was created.

Second short-term joint staff training event – Białystok, Poland, May 13-17, 2019

The second MILAN short-term joint staff training event was at the Bialystok University of Technology. The training event, organised by the Faculty of Computer Science covered their expertise in digital media engineering and computer graphics, with the scope of MILAN training system development.

The aim of this training event was to teach other project partners representatives, among others, utilisation of advances ICT technologies for delivery and presentation of multimedia materials containing AR/VR content.

The main points of the training event agenda were the following:

  • e-learning platforms – review and discussion,
  • effectiveness in developing and managing of materials – discussion,
  • fundamentals of Computer Graphics and Biometrics,
  • unity platform Fundamentals of AR/VR – workshop,
  • D-tech AR solutions for Industry – as an example of using technology to provide information to employees using augmented reality,
  • ALNEA VR solution for Industry – Virtual reality visualizations of production lines,
  • Networking on ICT technologies for delivery and presentations of multimedia materials containing AR/VR content,
  • example of application VR technology in gaming and education – visit Riftcat company,
  • visit to laboratories of Bialystok Science and Technology Park,
  • Multimedia exhibition Wersal Północy wśród dźwięków i świateł (Muzeum Historyczne). Multimedia exhibition „Białystok młodego Zamenhofa” (Centrum Ludwika Zamenhofa),
  • summary, conclusions and evaluation of the training event.

First short-term joint staff training event – Chania, Greece, February 25 – March 1, 2019

The first MILAN short-term joint staff training event was held at Technical University of Crete / Laboratory of Distributed Multimedia Information Systems and Applications (TUC/MUSIC). It covered their expertise in information systems, e-learning and mobile learning systems and methodologies within the scope of MILAN training system development. The aim of this training event was to teach other project partners representatives on, among others, how they can apply the blended learning approach supported by MILAN training platform, for the development of training activities and training materials supported by multimedia as an effective means of learning, and their presentation and on-line distribution, to fit different learning needs. The training event included presentations, training courses, hands-on sessions and discussion workshops, as well as study visits to relevant labs of the Technical University of Crete.

The main points of the training event agenda were the following: 

  • e-learning methodologies – Blended learning and models,
  • building a common language (Learning Objects and granularity, Learning Content Models & standards, Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) vs. Learning Management Systems (LMS)),
  • e-learning courses design (Instructional design o Learning Styles, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Task analysis, Form of learning resources and course structuring),
  • e-learning systems and tools for developing, managing and delivering e-learning courses: successful implementations of related projects & solutions,
  • hands-on Workshop – Testing the solutions presented,
  • overview of Computer Graphics and Simulation Research (VR/AR) at TUC/MUSIC Lab – Demos,
  • visit to Transformable Intelligent Environments Laboratory (TUC TIE Lab), School of Architecture,
  • visit to Micromachining and Manufacturing Modelling Lab (TUC M3 Lab), School of Production Engineering and Management,
  • networking with related projects in progress: Participation of the Directorate of Secondary Education in Chania under the Ministry of Education (responsible among others for all Vocational Lyceums – EPAL) and presentation of their related projects.

Kick-Off Meeting in Warsaw – November 26-27, 2018

Meeting in Warsaw – 26-27.11.2018

The first transnational project meeting was held in Przemysłowy Instytut Automatyki i Pomiarów PIAP in Warsaw.

The purpose of the meeting was to provide information about Erasmus+ regulations, distribution of project tasks and responsibilities, clarification of project issues, creation of project management bodies, definition of communication strategy and preparation of action list for next 6 months, presentation plans for O1 and O2  execution, presentation of project quality management plan (draft), elaboration of project dissemination strategy (draft), creation of evaluation plan/strategy and elaboration of training programs for two planed short-term joint staff training events.

During the meeting the following issues were established:

•          introduction of partners,

•          Erasmus+ program overview,

•          project management rules and important matters resulting from the evaluation of the project and the contracting process,

•          1st draft of Quality Management Plan,

•          communication in the project,

•          presentation of main tasks related to outputs,

•          using EQAVET recommendation in the project,

•          discussion about promotion and dissemination issues like project logo, web page, leaflets, Facebook profile, creation of YouTube channel.

As a result of the meeting the action list for the next 6 month was created.
